This darling book has been well-loved since it’s publishing in 1970. Written and illustrated by the author, Hardie Gramatky, the artwork are beautiful water color prints. Perfect for young readers.
Our little hardback reader was rescued from school library, as is seen by the checkout card still glued to the final page. As shown in the photos there are some stains, rips, and a little “artwork” throughout – but nothing that deters from the readability of this sweet story.
